The 8th International Workshop of Clumped Isotopes was held in September 19-22, 2022, in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
These workshops are bi-annual meetings of the community of scientists that study isotopic systems with more than one heavy, rare, isotopes bound to each other, in either carbonate minerals or organic molecules. The meetings are an opportunity to share scientific progress and new ideas and to create standard analytical practices that serve the community as a whole. The 8th meeting was organized by Uri Ryb and Hagit Affek from the Institute of Earth Sciences at HUJI, who hosted about 50 participants from mostly Europe and North America, as well as about 20 Israeli participants.
The program includes 16 scientific lectures, 32 poster presentations, as well as formal and informal discussion. The participants also enjoyed a tour in the Old City of Jerusalem and a geological tour to the Northern Negev and Dead Sea, including presentations of current isotopic research performed in these sites.
