A unique hackathon at the Institute of Applied Physics

Some 40 students participated in a hackathon held last week at the Institute of Applied Physics, led by Prof. Freddy Gabbay. The participants faced the challenge of developing a cryptographic computational accelerator that interfaces with a RISCV processor. The event was held over Zoom and opened with a lecture from Mr. Aviad Hevrony from Apple. The hackathon helped the students acquire practical tools in the fields of planning, design, and teamwork, with support from mentors from international chip companies.
