Prof. Strasser is recruiting students to his lab

We develop novel experimental techniques for visualizing molecular dynamics. Can we take a "picture" of charge transfer between two molecules? How much time it takes for electron transfer?, and how much for proton transfer in the opposite direction? How does it depend on the intermolecular distance? Can quantum mechanics predict which chemical bond breaks? In our lab, students acquire a broad range of techniques: Particle detectors that allow seeing a single atom hit, ultrafast lasers, image processing, advanced data analysis methods, and more. These capabilities allow access to advanced international facilities such as free electron lasers and heavy ion storage devices.
