Analysis of Boolean functions (AoBF) applies tools from mathematical analysis, like a discrete variant of the Fourier transform, to study functions defined on the discrete hypercube {0,1}^n. While this setting may seem restricted, one can find applications of AoBF in a wide variety of areas, ranging from social choice and cryptography to percolation theory and quantum computing.
We shall describe the fundamental notions and results of AoBF, many of which were developed at the Hebrew University, and present several applications to diverse areas.
Congratulations to 123 recipients of a master's degree and 624 recipients of a graduate degree from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences for the year 2009. A successful way!
This year 624 graduates are getting a bachelor’s degree and 123 graduates are getting a master’s degree.

For the first time, the Hebrew University is represented at the International Data Day 2020 (world wide data day), by a doctoral student from the research group of Prof. Guy Ron of the Institute of Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The Hebrew University is the only country represented this year.
