Amyloid Proteins That Respond to Magnetic Fields
Amyloid Proteins That Respond to Magnetic Fields
A new study by Yael Kapon and Prof. Yossi Paltiel from the Institute of Applied Physics, published in ACS Nano, reveals that amyloid proteins — associated with neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s — behave differently when placed on magnetized surfaces. The findings point to a new direction for slowing or preventing this buildup using physical tools rather than chemical substances.
