Can an animal personality be a matter of life and death?

A new study led by Dr. Miguel de Guinea and Prof. Ran Nathan of the Alexander Silberman Institute of Life Sciences, published in Ecology Letters, shows that individual animals from the same population differ consistently in the degree of risk they are willing to take, and that these personality differences directly shape how they move, behave, and ultimately survive in environments increasingly dominated by humans.
