Einstein Institute of Mathematics
The Einstein Institute of Mathematics is among the leading research institutes in the world. The institute was founded concurrently with the founding of the university itself in 1925. Its graduates and researchers include some of the world’s leading mathematicians. Members of the institute have won countless prizes and awards, including the Nobel Prize, Fields Medal, Wolf Prize, Abel Prize, Shaw Prize, and Israel Prize, among others.
The institute includes research groups in most fields of mathematics: logic, set theory, algebra, group theory, representation theory, algebraic topology, differential geometry, analysis, mathematical physics, ergodic theory and dynamic systems, number theory, probability, combinatorics and game theory.
The institute offers academic programs for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The institute also hosts post-doctoral students and visitors from around the world, and it offers many seminars, workshops and conferences. Members of the institute are also active in numerous projects to further the study of mathematics among university students, teachers, school students and the general public.
